Apple is set to host an event on September 9 where it is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 6. Despite various rumors and leaks, the company has managed to keep a lot of things under the wraps. Now however, Apple’s Chinese carrier partner, China Telecom, has confirmed the iPhone 6 and shared a few new details, Sina Mobile News reports (via ZDNet). China Telecom, the country s third largest carrier trailing behind China Mobile and China Unicom, has confirmed that it will be selling the iPhone 6. What s more, the China Telecom will be selling an unlocked version of the smartphone, which will support a wide range of networks in China including TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000, and CDMA1X among others. Currently the iPhones sold by China Telecom only support the carrier s 3G CDMA2000 network, and it has been losing subscribers ever since iPhones debuted on rival China Mobile’s network. Additionally, China Telecom also put up a couple of ads that show the iPhone 6 in three different colors. The renders are however a tad different from what has leaked in the last few months. The images also seem to have been ripped off B hance, a site where designers Tomas Moyano and Nicol s Aichino have created a bunch of renders for the iPhone 6. Not surprisingly, by the time of filing the story, China Telecom had deleted the Weibo post.
As mentioned above, Apple is expected to take the wraps off the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch variants of the iPhone 6 on September 9. However, due to a last minute design change in the display, the iPhone 6 launch could be delayed or be available in extremely limited stocks initially.
