A few leaked screenshots claimed to have been shot at Foxconn reveal a bunch of new details about the forthcoming iPhone 6. Sourced by French website iGen, these new details include the dimensions and weight of the two iPhone 6 variants. According to the leaked screenshots, the final version of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 variant will be 158mm long, 78mm wide, and 7.1mm thick. With the slightly protruding rear camera included, the thickness is 7.7mm. As far as the weight is concerned, the final version will weigh in at 184.6 grams. The screenshots also reveal that the first iPhone 6 prototype sported dimensions of 158x78x7mm, and weighed 168.5 grams. The difference in the schematics means that Apple has been trying out different components between the first prototype and the final version. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6, on the other hand, will be 138mm long, 66mm wide and 6.9mm thick. In comparison, the iPhone 5S has dimensions of 123x58x7.6mm.The leaked screenshots also show the design changes in the rear camera compared to the iPhone 5S.
The overall design seen in the screenshots is consistent with the leaked screenshots we have come across before. There are the rounded edges, thinner body, redesigned volume button and the relocated power button.
The publication curiously mentions that Apple was testing a 2.5mm audio jack on the iPhone 6 instead of the standard 3.5mm audio jack. The company is however said to have abandoned the idea for cost reasons.
Apple is hosting an event on September 9, where it is widely expected to take the wraps off both the models of the iPhone 6.
