Even as Apple is three months away from officially unveiling the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, leaks and rumors don t seem to take a breather. Earlier today, a WSJ report more or less confirmed that the iPhone 7 base storage variant will start with 32GB. Now, reliable leaker OnLeaks has shared a few CAD renders, offering a detailed look at the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. According to rumors, the iPhone 7 won’t look different from last year’s Apple iPhone 6s. However, minor refinements are still expected. The casing of the bottom of the panel shows off the Lightning socket and speaker grilles, but as rumored for quite a few months now, the legacy 3.5mm headphone port is missing. The render clearly shows the cutout for the Home button, but it s difficult to judge if it will house the rumored touch-sensitive or a physical button.
The back panel of the casing shows a slightly enlarged and protruding camera hole on the iPhone 7, and the dual-camera housing on the iPhone 7 Plus. The two lenses on the iPhone 7 Plus could be used to capture better quality photos along with depth of field. Apple is likely to leverage the expertise from companies such as LinX and PrimeSense which it acquired.
The renders also show off the relocated antenna bands, which are moved to the top and bottom. The right edge of the panel also shows off power / sleep button and the volume rocker.
From the rumors that we have come across so far, the new iPhones could be powered by the next-gen A10 processors, 2GB of RAM (3GB on the iPhone 7 Plus), improved water and dust resistance, and more. Recent rumors also point to a new Space Black color variant for the new iPhones.
