Hyper local mobile marketplace Zopper has kick started pre-bookings for the upcoming Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. Zopper has partnered with The Mobile Store to sell the new iPhones, and promises delivery within 24 hours of the October 7 launch. Zopper is also offering buyers with options like no cost EMI and a chance to win an iPhone 7 for free. Zopper joins various premium retailers in the country that unofficially started taking pre-registrations for the upcoming iPhones. There is however a difference here. What Zopper is doing is pre-booking, wherein you pay the entire amount and the company will deliver it to you when the stocks arrive. In this case, you can choose the phone model, storage variant and the color too (yes, the Jet Black variant is available too). The premium retailers though were pre-registering an iPhone for you at a small price. Say for Rs 1,000 you can pre-register an iPhone model, storage variant and a color, but on the day of the launch the sale will be on first-come-first-serve basis. Some of the retailers we contacted before said that the first stock is expected to be in limited quantity, and the next stock may arrive only after 15 days. Zopper has listed all the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus variants, with prices starting from Rs 60,000 and going up to Rs 92,000 for the iPhone 7 Plus 256GB variant. Prices for the iPhone 7 start from Rs 60,000 for the 32GB variant and go up to Rs 80,000 for the 256GB variant. Prices for the iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, start from Rs 72,000 for the 32GB variant, and go up to Rs 92,000 for the 256GB variant. However, it remains to be seen how Zopper fulfils demand considering only limited stocks, especially of the jet black color are expected to be available initially.
Apple will also be launching a bunch of accessories, with prices starting from Rs 900 and going up to Rs 15,400 for a pair of AirPods. ALSO READ: Apple, Flipkart partner for iPhone 7 online retail in India
Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus specifications
The iPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch HD display, whereas the iPhone 7 Plus features a 5.5-inch full HD display. Apple claims that the new display is 25 percent brighter with wide color gamut. Under the hood is a faster A10 Fusion 64-bit quad-core chipset, which Apple claims is two times faster than the A8 chipset on the iPhone 6.
Both iPhones come with better 12-megapixel cameras. While the iPhone 7 gains optical image stabilization, the highlight of iPhone 7 Plus is the dual-camera setup. It can shoot great photos in low light, and is also a capable portrait shooter with DSLR-like bokeh effect. The new smartphones run on iOS 10 out-of-the-box.
