Under this partnership, Flipkart will source iPhones directly from Apple, rather than relying on third-party retailers. Now, with less than 10 days to go for India launch, Flipkart has announced that it will start taking pre-orders for the new iPhones starting September 29, at 23:59PM. At the time of filing this story, Flipkart only had a landing page for the new iPhones, and no individual page listing the different variants. Also, details about the delivery date are scarce at the moment. The new iPhones bring a host of improvements over their predecessors, including faster processor, better cameras, bigger batteries, water and dust resistance, and more. Prices for the iPhone 7 start at Rs 60,000 for the 32GB variant, whereas the 128GB and 256GB variants are priced at Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000, respectively. The iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 72,000 for the 32GB variant, whereas the 128GB and 256GB variants are priced at Rs 82,000 and Rs 92,000, respectively. The iPhone 7 flaunts a 4.7-inch HD display, whereas the iPhone 7 Plus flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD display. According to Apple, the new display is 25 percent brighter with wide color gamut compared to the ones on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. At the heart of both iPhones runs Apple s A10 Fusion 64-bit quad-core chipset paired with M10 motion co-processor. During the launch, Apple touted the camera capabilities of the new iPhones. Both, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are equipped with a better 12-megapixel sensor of aperture f/1.8, quad led flash and optical image stabilization (OIS). The cameras also support 4K video recording and slow motion video recording capabilities. For the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple has equipped dual-camera setup at the back a 12-megapixel wide angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens (56mm). Combined together, these cameras can shoot great photos in low light, and also doubles as portrait shooter with DSLR-like bokeh effects. The telephoto lens also provides 2x optical zoom capabilities. With connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11, the new smartphones run on iOS 10 out-of-the-box. Apple has dripped support for 3.5mm audio port and is using the Lightning connector for charging, data transfer and as audio output port for Lightning connector based headphones. Apple will also be launching a bunch of accessories, with prices starting from Rs 900 and going up to Rs 15,400 for a pair of AirPods.
