Now that the Samsung Galaxy Note7 is out, the rumor mills’ focus now turns towards the upcoming Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. We have already come across quite a few alleged renders showing what the upcoming iPhones could look like. Now leaksters seem to be taking things to the next level by leaking what look like working prototypes. Photos of an assembled an Apple iPhone 7 in “working” condition has been leaked by French website NWE. The photos yet again reiterate the tweaked design with repositioned antenna bands, no 3.5mm audio jack and a larger iSight camera at the back. That said, this is the first time we are seeing the display switched on. The device though is not working in the real sense, and instead is seen running Apple’s internal testing software called SwitchBoard. Also Read - Beware! Another video shared by the folks at Unbox Therapy shows a dummy model of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. But unlike what we have seen before, this one seems to be very close to the real deal. Again the model reiterates what we have come across before — repositioned antenna lines, a mute button at the side, no 3.5mm audio jack, the dual-camera setup at the back and iPad Pro-like Smart Connector at the bottom. The folks compare the model with an iPhone 6s Plus to closely show the differences that we can expect. Interestingly, the model is in an electric blue color that we haven’t seen before.
While these new leaks do not exactly reveal anything new, it is clear that we are going to come across similar leaks as we inch closer to September. Speaking of which, Apple may not have announced anything, but reports claim that the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be up for pre-orders from September 9. Going by traditions, this would mean that Apple could have an event scheduled for September 6.
Apart from the design, leaks suggest that the iPhone 7 could feature a new A10 processor, 2GB of RAM, while the iPhone 7 Plus variant will feature 3GB of RAM. Other new features expected are TouchID sensor with Force Touch technology, and waterproofing capabilities. There are also a few sketchy rumors claiming that Apple might launch a third variant, called iPhone 7 Pro.
