If speculations are true, then tech giant Apple might be dropping the headphone jack entirely in the new iphone 7 to be unveiled this year. The part of the phone that currently holds the jack on the left hand side of the bottom of the phone will be used for an extra speaker, according to a research note from analysts at Barclays, the independent reported. Apple may also offer entirely wireless headphones over Bluetooth in the upcoming phone, some reports suggest.
iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The first generation iPhone was released on June 29, 2007. The most recent iPhone models are the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which were unveiled at a special event on September 9, 2015.
There have been reports in the past stating that the iPhone 7 is expected to be thinner than iPhone 6s with the camera module sitting flush with the device itself. The report further states that the next-gen iPhone could come with the same design as the current iPhone 6 and 6s family, sans the rear antenna lines.
Some reports also claim that future iPhones may come with Li-Fi wireless technology which is expected to be 100 times faster than Wi-Fi.
