Apple s upcoming September 12 event is more than just its annual hardware event – it marks 10 years of iPhone, which first shipped in June 2007. If the latest Gold Master version of iOS 11 is to be believed, Apple will be launching three phones at the event- iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, and all signs point to it being huge. However, reports have gone a step further and hinted that the iPhone 8 along with the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, Apple Watch 3 as well as the 4K Apple TV will be up for pre-orders on September 15. The information was cited on a German website Macerkopf, which says that the sources close to two network operators have confirmed that Apple will start taking pre-orders for its products starting September 15. While Apple hasn’t confirmed the date, but this shouldn t come as a big surprise as Apple usually starts taking pre-orders immediately after the launch event. The reports further claim that Apple is likely to start delivering the iPhone 8 to customers on September 22. However, according to previous reports, there might be a delay in the delivery of iPhone X because of the low productions of the OLED screen.
Going by what has been talked about so far, the iPhone X would undoubtedly be the highlight of the event. The smartphone is expected to feature a radical design in comparison to the older iPhones. Apple might even flaunt a glass back on the iPhone X, and an all-display design. Some suggest that the Touch ID will be embedded underneath the display, but, the latest reports sort of confirmed that Apple will ditch the Touch ID for a 3D face ID. Another interesting feature that we might see on the iPhone X is the Animoji, which will record user voice and reflect facial expressions. Apart from that, reports also hint that the smartphone will lack a home button and instead use a series of gestures for controlling the device. Leaks suggest that the iPhone X will be priced $1,000 (Rs 63,900 approximately). ALSO READ: Apple iPhone X -exclusive iOS 11 features leaked, reveals new keypad, Animoji, Face ID and more
Apart from the new iPhones, the company is also widely expected to take the wraps off the next-generation Apple Watch. The new Apple Watch is rumored to come in two variants one with Wi-Fi, and the other with Wi-Fi LTE support. The LTE variant does sound capable of calling, receiving texts and emails without an iPhone. However, both the variant will need an iPhone to connect with it.
