The anniversary edition of the Apple’s iPhone, the iPhone 8 has currently been spotted in two leaked renders. The two different renders show off the alleged iPhone 8 in different colors and with some changes in design as compared to the previous leaks. The iPhone 8 has so far been rumored to feature a radically different design with a bezel-less OLED display, with the Touch ID sensor embedded underneath it.
Spotted by 9to5Mac on Weibo, the iPhone 8 is seen in gold, silver and black color options. The first noticeable thing about this image is the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which would be a first for Apple. There have been speculations that Apple may embed Touch ID sensor underneath the display. However, supply chain issues in manufacturing complex components could be the reason for Apple to shift the fingerprint sensor placement to the back of the device. Samsung did the same to accommodate a taller display, and get rid of the physical home button and capacitive Android navigation buttons.
Up front, iPhone 8 renders show off a tall display, just like the Galaxy S8, but the side bezels are still present. Also, only the black model of the iPhone 8 is seen with a glass back, while the gold and silver variants have an aluminum casing as seen in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 series. Apple is said to integrate a glass back on the iPhone 8 to enable wireless charging. The dual-rear cameras are placed vertically on the top left corner similar to how it has been rumored so far. Moreover, the silver and gold variants of the iPhone 8 antenna bands are placed on top and bottom like the iPhone 7 series, but the same aren’t visble on the black color variant. The second leaked render comes from MobileXpose, which shows the iPhone 8 in four colors of black, gold, silver and white. The back panel of the iPhone 8 is visible showing a design at par with past leaks. However, this render does not feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, nor does it show the front panel with physical Touch ID button. We may have to wait a bit longer to gain more clarity on the iPhone 8 design.
Also, this render does not show visible antenna bands on the rear panel of the iPhone, but two small lines can be seen passing through the top and bottom edges. ALSO READ: Apple iPhone 8 final look leaked, the smartphone stays true to rumors
