The new set of iPhones boasts a glass sandwich design, similar to the iPhone 4, years ago. This time around, Apple is promising the design is stronger and less vulnerable to damage. There’s also water and dust resistant capabilities in the new iPhones.
In the initial dissection, the major change is the seven-layer glass back which replaces the aluminium chassis found on the older iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, iFixit reports. RELATED: Apple iOS 11 roll out: List of compatible devices and how to install the OS

The iPhone 8 wireless charging is based on the Qi standard. In an X-ray image of the iPhone 8 rear panel, the charging coil is seen obscuring the logic board, battery, and supporting structures.
Given that the teardown is still underway, more details on battery, RAM, heat-pipe design, and other details such as display, handset fragility, and more will be revealed soon. ALSO READ: Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus available for pre-orders on Flipkart, Amazon India and Infibeam
