So here are some more leaks about one of the most awaited smartphones of this year. Apple is rumored to launch three new iPhones this year, dubbed as the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, and an iPhone 8. As opposed to the former two, which are expected to feature an LCD display like predecessors, the iPhone 8 is rumored to come with an OLED display. Now that we caught you up to that, the latest rumor has it, that Apple’s OLED iPhone model will come with a larger 2,700 mAh battery, which will be the iPhone 8. However, besides the fact that the iPhone will finally have a bigger battery, what’s really good about this leak is that despite the larger battery, the iPhone 8 will reportedly retain the dimensions similar to the iPhone 7. For your information, currently, the latest iPhone 7 is fuelled by a 1,960 mAh battery. Reportedly, the iPhone 8 will have about 38 percent more battery capacity as compared to the iPhone 7. The information comes from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. He has also shared an image, which describes how Apple is able to achieve the increased capacity in the iPhone 8 in such a small chassis size – namely, through the use of a stacked “substrate-like” PCB mainboard. This makes the board smaller overall, so there’s more space for the battery inside the phone. Also Read - Apple introduces iOS 12.5.4 with major security updates: Is your iPhone on the list?
Additionally, recalling the latest rumors about the new iPhones, Apple is rumored to bring wireless charging option for all the three iPhones this year. This rumor got all the more weightage when recently Apple was spotted listed as a member on the Wireless Power Consortium website. Essentially, the wireless consortium oversees the charging standard called Qi, which ensures the interoperability among different products and brands that support wireless charging. The present wireless charging standard allows one to merely place the device on the compatible charging pad and it can draw power without plugging in the cord. However, the charging pad needs to be connected to the wall.
If these rumors are anything close to the truth, the Apple iPhone 8 will come with a 5.2 or 5.8-inch OLED display, along with wireless charging capabilities, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. It is also expected by some that the iPhone 8 will be one of the most expensive iPhones ever and it will bring back the old glass sandwich design. In addition to that, the iPhone 8 is likely to continue with the dual rear camera setup seen in the iPhone 7 Plus.
