iPhone and HDFC deals
Apple recently hiked the price of its iPhone models that are not locally assembled in the country. However, Apple iPhone continues to be available at discounted price via retailers and leading banks. HDFC Bank, one of the leading banks in the country has announced a cashback of up to Rs 10,000 on various Apple products. The offer is applicable of devices ranging from iPhone 6 to the Apple iPad and will be available from retailers including Brightstar, HCL Infosystems, Ingram, Redington, and Rashi Peripherals.
The offer is valid only until February 14, 2018 i.e. Valentine’s Day and the cashback is applicable while using EasyEMI option on HDFC Bank Debit Cards, Credit Cards and Consumer Durable Loan. The cashback will be credited on or before 90 business days from the date of the transaction. To summarize, the iPhone 6 and iPhone SE is available with a cashback of Rs 7,000 while iPad, iPad Mini and iPad Pro are available with a cashback of Rs 10,000.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with Snapdragon 845 SoC leaks in promo image
Xiaomi is expected to launch an improved version of its Mi Mix 2 smartphone at MWC 2018 later this month. The leaked render of the device suggests it will feature a 5.99-inch display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The render also shows that the front camera will be moved to the top right corner, giving it an unusual notch and actually bezel-less design. Xiaomi has been innovative with the Mi Mix design language and the new Mi Mix 2S could well be the most ambitious design language yet from the company.
Google embracing iPhone X-like notch
The jury is still out on whether iPhone X is a success or not but Google seems to be liking it. A new report by Bloomberg claims that Google will embrace the notch seen on iPhone with the next release of iPhone. It states that Google believes that notch-style design will get mainstream and it seems apt to add native support for the feature.
The notch is already expected to be part of next-generation smartphones from Android OEMs including Huawei and Samsung. The next release named Android P is also expected to have emphasis on Google Assistant and developers will be enable to integrate their apps with the Assistant.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 event will also see the debut of first Mi TV
Xiaomi is set to launch a new smartphone in India on February 14 and it is expected to be called Redmi Note 5. However, the company is also expected to launch the first Mi TV at the event on Wednesday. Xiaomi has expanded its Indian product portfolio to include smartphones, air purifiers, wearables and accessories and TV could be the next major addition.
Xiaomi’s tweet hints at the company launching a slim Mi TV based on Android TV operating system. While the information related to the device is scant at this point in time, the company is believed to be planning a major product announcement as it plans its strategy to stay the number 1 brand in the country.
Apple iMac Pro now available in India
Apple iMac Pro, the most powerful Mac yet, is now available in India at Rs 4,15,000. The iMac Pro went on sale from December 14 in the US but Apple didn’t share any time frame for its retail availability in India. The powerful all-in-one desktop workstation-class machine is now available in the country.
The iMac Pro comes with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage, a 27-inch 5K display, an 8-core Intel Xeon W chipset. It also includes an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 GPU with 8GB of HBM2 memory. Other features include four Thunderbolt 3 ports, four USB 3.0 port, 10Gbps Ethernet port, SDXC port and 3.5mm audio jack. The machine is ideal for content creators working with huge 4K videos files or professionals working on 360-degree videos.
Oppo A71 launched at Rs 9,990
Oppo has added another new smartphone to its online-centric A series portfolio. The Oppo A71 (3GB) is a variation of the model that was launched in India last year.
The Oppo A71 (3GB) features a 5.2-inch display, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset as opposed MediaTek SoC found on previous model. The smartphone also comes with 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera along with AI beautification features. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,990 and is available in Gold and Black colors from Amazon India, Flipkart and Snapdeal.
