Apple’s ‘Find My iPhone’ app pre-installed on all iOS devices can serve as a great tool to find a lost iPhone. Now, a woman has detailed how she dropped her iPhone from a plane, and then found the device in perfect working condition using the application.
Sarvinder Naberhaus, a resident of Iowa in US, told the local news station, that she took a leisure flight on a vintage American airplane. During the flight, she was taking pictures from the passenger seat when the wind caught her iPhone, and she lost her grip. “The wind just took it and it was gone. I looked down and there were cornfields below me,” Naberhaus told WHO TV, a local Iowa TV station.
After she lost her iPhone, the pilot of the flight told her that she would never be able to see it again since it had dropped 1,000 feet. After landing, Naberhaus fired up the Find My iPhone app, and it failed at first. But the app sparked back into life with the location of her iPhone just when she had made up her mind that she would never be able to find her lost iPhone ever again.
The local media report notes that Naberhaus and a friend eventually found it nestled in a patch of grass in a residential area. The device was found to be working perfectly, without any scratch on it, despite the 1,000 feet drop. “It was face up in the grass right by me, and it was really nice, tall, soft grass,” Naberhaus added and she said that it taught her that “God has a great sense of humor.”

In another such story, an iPhone 7 was found working after being submerged in the ocean for 48 hours. The smartphone was discovered by diver when it received a text. These instances further illustrate how Apple’s iPhone offers better build quality and receives network even when submerged in ocean. To recall, the iPhone 7 is rated as IP67 water and dust resistant.
