Apple launched the iPhone SE as an unofficial successor to iPhone 5S in 2016. The smartphone was launched as an attempt to convince those holding on to their iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S to upgrade, who we holding out because of the larger displays offered by models such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone SE came out of demand for a 4-inch iPhone and it seems the demand for an iPhone SE successor keeps growing with each passing day. Next month, Apple will complete three years without an update for the iPhone SE and this new concept imagines the modern version of the smartphone.
In a new concept posted by ConceptsiPhone, the video shows off an iPhone SE 2 reimagined for modern times without compromising on its form factor. It imagines a tiny and compact iPhone with an edge-to-edge display and a notch to house the Face ID camera. It also imagines glass back, which could be meant to enable wireless charging on the smartphone. There is single rear camera with a bump similar to that of existing iPhone and the iPad Pro.
The concept render by Gunho Lee shows off the device in a number of colors, including gold, red, silver and blue. However, this isn’t the first time that someone has imagined the iPhone SE for the modern times. Previously, Concept Creator Ran Avni had created similar videos for the iPhone 11, where they imagine a triple rear camera setup. This does not necessarily mean that Apple will launch a new version of iPhone SE.

The rumors around the launch of iPhone SE successor have ranged from tangible to impossible. Ahead of Apple’s September event, it seemed likely that the company will launch a successor to its 4-inch iPhone but the company instead introduced iPhone XS as its most compact iPhone for 2018. The iPhone SE 2 has also appeared in the form of leaked screen protector but we will have to wait to know if Apple is indeed building the successor to its small screen iPhone.
