The iPhone SE 2 has been a part of the rumor mill for months now, and as the expected launch draws closer, we have more leaks and rumors pouring in. Last week, we came across reports stating that the new compact smartphone from Apple will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and will route the audio using the Lightning connector, and Bluetooth. According to reliable Twitter leaker Ben Geskin, the new 4-inch Apple smartphone will also ditch the metal back in favor of glass, just like the company did with iPhone 8 and iPhone X. He tweeted saying, New iPhone (probably SE2) coming soon code name: Jaguar. Glass Case, Wireless Charging, In Mass Production already. Adding glass back will allow Apple to implement wireless charging feature. Reports have hinted that the iPhone SE 2 is already in production, and the launch could be sometime in May. Other reports indicate that Apple might hold on to June, and announce the smartphone at WWDC 2018 in June.

While there were rumors that the new iPhone SE 2 might also come with dual cameras and edge-to-edge display like the iPhone X, latest reports don t hint at any of these. However, from what we know so far, the new iPhone SE 2 will likely be powered by Apple A10 Fusion SoC with 2GB of RAM, 32GB and 128GB onboard storage options.
For biometric authentication, it could still keep the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, while ditching Face ID facial recognition tech.
