Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 2 has been a part of the rumor mill for quite some time now, and every time we hear something new. The early rumors hinted that the smartphone will feature an iPhone X-like glass back design, and an edge-to-edge display. The next set of rumors nullified the possibility, and instead claimed that it will look exactly like the first-generation iPhone SE with metal back, and will be powered by the latest hardware on board. And now, yet again, there is a twist in the tale.

Case maker Olixar (courtesy of has shared a number of schematics and images that support recent rumors about the upcoming iPhone SE 2. These include a 3D render of the iPhone SE next to a screen protector, showing off an edge-to-edge display, along with a notch on top. The notch is similar to iPhone X with a front camera, earpiece and the depth sensor. And as the render does not show a Touch ID fingerprint sensor at the bottom, the upcoming device is likely to feature Face ID facial scanning technology too.

Also, from the 3D render, we can see the metal frame with chamfered edges, but it does not show the back of the smartphone. As of now, it seems unlikely that the iPhone SE 2 will feature wireless charging, but we will have to wait until we get more clarity. Previous 3D CAD renders leaked by OnLeaks showed off the smartphone from all angles, and just like other iPhones, the SE 2 will also be dropping the legacy 3.5mm headphone jack.

From what we have heard so far, the iPhone SE 2 could be powered by Apple A10 Fusion SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM, 32GB and 128GB onboard storage options. Other details such as front and rear camera resolution, and battery capacity are scarce at the moment. Apple But given that it is expected to launch sometime in May-end or June, we expect more leaks to start pouring in.
