Apple is all set to unveil the iPhone SE at its ‘Let us Loop you In’ event on March 21. With less than a week to the event, a video has emerged from China that allegedly shows what the upcoming 4-inch iPhone could look like. If this video is to be believed, the Apple iPhone SE actually looks like a love child of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s. The purported iPhone SE was spotted at Huaqiangbei Shenzhen, which is called the ‘silicon valley of hardware’ in China. The video shared by YouTube channel Nick Beeep shows the iPhone SE compared to the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s. In line with previous rumors, the iPhone SE does seem to take the size and design elements from the iPhone 5s, but also adds elements from the iPhone 6s. You can clearly see the rounded edges, plastic antenna bands at the back, and the protruding rear camera module. The folks shooting the video also notice that the Rose Gold color is a shade brighter than what we see on the iPhone 6s.
Before we all get excited though, the device in the video turns out to be a dummy unit that won’t power on. While it’s too early to say, the dummy unit in all probability could be assembled in China using real iPhone SE components. We would strongly recommend this be taken with the proverbial pinch of salt.
Apple iPhone SE specifications, features: From what we have come across so far, the iPhone SE is expected to feature a 4-inch Retina Display, but without 3D Touch display technology. It is likely to be powered by variants of the A9 processor along with M9 co-processor.
The iPhone SE is also expected to feature 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera up front, 16GB and 64GB storage variants, and NFC for Apple Pay support. Reports say that the iPhone SE could be priced somewhere between $399 and $499 (Rs 26,700 and Rs 33,400 approximately), and it is expected to go on sale from March 25 in select markets. Considering the company’s changed outlook, India could be among the first to get the iPhone SE.
