Apple launched the iPhone SE at its ‘Let’s loop you in’ event last night, and also announced that it will go on sale in India sometime in ‘early April’. Redington, Apple’s official distributor in India, has just announced that the iPhone SE will go on sale on April 8. The new iPhone will be available across Redington’s 3,000 retail outlets across the country.
Apple iPhone SE is the new compact iPhone, which is essentially an iPhone 6s packed into the iPhone 5s’ body. Apple will be launching two variants of the iPhone SE in India — 16GB and 64GB. The base variant is priced at Rs 39,000, but the company hasn’t revealed the pricing of the 64GB variant yet.
Publications who were present at Apple’s event last night have posted their first impressions, and they are mostly positive. While the new iPhone may look identical to the iPhone 5s, it is as fast and snappy as the flagship iPhone 6s.
