Apple has new zero down payment EMI schemes available for purchase of select smartphones, allowing users to buy new phones on easy monthly instalments for 18 months. The scheme is available on a wide range of Apple smartphones available in India, and is detailed on Indiaistore.com, the website run by Apple’s authorized distributors in India. The site is not an e-commerce portal, but simply an information portal for authorized sales of Apple products in India. It is run by Ingram Micro, Redington, Brightstar, Rashi Peripherals and HCL Infosystems, the five official distributors for Apple in the country. For purchases, the portal helps users locate a nearby Apple Premium Reseller, Apple Authorized Reseller or multi-brand store that stocks Apple products. The EMI schemes as detailed on the site are said to be available at retail locations for purchases. Also Read - iMessage on Android will hurt Apple, says Epic Games in latest court filing
The EMI scheme is available through leading banks and non-banking financial institutions, and allows a customer to purchase a new Apple smartphone at zero down payment on 18-month EMI plans. While the EMI plan is not an interest-free one, customers will bear a smaller percentage of the interest on the loan, thereby making purchase of an Apple product easier and more attractive as an option.
Under the scheme, the Apple iPhone X (64GB) can be purchased at Rs 5,599 per month for 18 months, which comes to an effective price of Rs 1,00,782 (up from the MRP of Rs 95,390). The effective interest charged to the customer is 5.65 percent. The scheme is also available on other models, including the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 can be purchased at Rs 2,999 per month for 18 months, with effective interest levied on the customer at 3.07 percent. Similarly, the iPhone 7 Plus is available at a monthly instalment of Rs 3,599. The iPhone 8 is available for Rs 3,999 per month. In comparison, you can get your hands on the iPhone 8 Plus for Rs 4,599 per month.

The scheme is available for purchases between June 15 and September 30, and certain credit and debit cards may also be eligible for additional cash backs and discounts. Interestingly, this may be among the last purchase schemes offered for high-value Apple purchases, after rumors that Apple may be revamping its strategy in India and reducing the number of authorized distributors.
