Apple iPhone XS beats Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in multi app test on video

In 16 app relay test, iPhone XS was significantly faster than the Note 9 in opening apps.

In an interesting face off, Apple’s latest iPhone XS has beaten Samsung’s flagship Note 9 smartphone on video. The speed test battle by PhoneBuff compared iPhone XS’ A12 Bionic processor to Samsung Galaxy Note 9’s Snapdragon 845 in multitasking performance, in which Apple edged Samsung out with a decent margin. The YouTuber used robotic arms to reliably open and switch apps on Apple iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy Note 9. He used 8GB RAM variant of the Galaxy Note 9 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, while we know Apple’s latest iPhone XS, XS Max feature A12 Bionic chipset with 4GB of RAM. In a pre-designed test, each app competed in a relay race and the final results came in favor of Apple iPhone XS. The margin in app opening time was about 22 seconds, which makes iPhone XS significantly faster. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with its 8GB RAM took a bit longer to load each app for the first time, while Apple’s 4GB RAM along with processor and iOS 12 software combination was good enough to load all 16 apps.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is touted as the productivity power house, and it was launched last month with Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets in different RAM, storage combination. The handset comes in 6GB or 8GB of RAM coupled with 128GB or 512GB of storage. Apple iPhone XS on the other hand unofficially boasts of 4GB of RAM, and comes in 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage variants.

Recently, Apple iPhone XS Max was awarded the best smartphone display by DisplayMate. The test measured the performance of the display with reference to several parameters, such as Very High Absolute Color Accuracy, and Industry Standard Color Gamuts.

It also concluded iPhone XS Max to be considerably better than any existing Smartphone, 4K UHD TV, Tablet, Laptop and a computer monitor. The iPhone XS Max also scored a Record High Full Screen Brightness for OLED smartphones with 660 nits, which is considerably brighter than most OLED and LCD smartphones.
