Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the new flagship iPhone models, will be going on sale today in India at 6:00PM. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max were announced at a special event in California on September 12, and went on sale in major markets on September 21. The new iPhones will today be available in India as well, and can be purchased from Apple authorized retail stores as well as other online retail channels.
Apple iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max: Price in India
Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max were introduced as the successor to last year’s iPhone X with OLED display and new Face ID facial recognition system. With iPhone XS Max, Apple is adding another option to the mix with the largest screen yet on an iPhone. As always, the new iPhone models are very expensive, and you will need a really deep pocket to buy them.
In terms of price, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available in three different storage variants at a starting price of Rs 99,900, and Rs 109,900 respectively. The iPhone XS with 64GB storage is priced at Rs 99,900, while the 256GB variant is priced at Rs 114,900. There is also a 512GB storage model that will set you back by Rs 134,900. The iPhone Xs Max, on the other hand, starts at Rs 109,000 for the base model with 64GB storage. The variants with 256GB and 512GB storage are priced at Rs 124,900 and Rs 144,900 respectively.
Apple iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max: Specifications and Features
The new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available in India starting 6PM today, and Apple India has reportedly imported 100,000 units into the country. According to ET, Apple is also including neighborhood retailers as part of its launch phase this year. Most analysts predict that the larger iPhone XS Max will see better response despite its price.
In terms of specifications, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max feature a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch Super Retina HD display with a resolution of 2436×1125 pixels, and 2688×1242 pixels respectively. Both models are powered by the new A12 Bionic chipset, which is an hexa-core CPU fabricated using the latest 7nm process. The chip also includes an updated neural engine for on-device machine learning, and processing smart HDR algorithms.
Since this is an S year, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max do not see much difference in terms of design. They feature glass back with stainless casing, and Apple claims it has put the most durable glass yet on an iPhone. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max might not be aimed at iPhone X owners but its camera certainly would make think about upgrading this year.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max feature dual 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto cameras on the back. The primary 12-megapixel camera has a wider f/1.8 aperture, and uses larger sensor and smart HDR algorithm to shoot brighter pictures even in low-light. They are come with improved portrait mode which lets you adjust the bokeh effect after the fact. At the front, there is a 7-megapixel iSight camera which also supports portait mode.
The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are IP68 water and dust resistant, and lack the 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple is not including the lightning to 3.5mm headphone dongle in the box, and users only get standard 5W charger. There is also Face ID which Apple claims to be much faster than the first version introduced with iPhone X last year. According to Apple, the iPhone XS lasts 30 minutes longer than iPhone X, while the iPhone XS Max lasts 1.5 hours longer than iPhone X.
