Apple is anticipated to launch at least three new iPhone models on September 12 ‘Gather Round’ event. With the leaks floating over the internet, reports have mostly pointed out the larger variant of alleged iPhone XS as the iPhone XS Plus, which has been a usual naming convention by Apple for previous larger variants of iPhone. However, this is going to change, and instead of ‘Plus’, Apple will use the word ‘Max’ for the new iPhone model.
According to 9to5mac, two sources familiar with Apple’s marketing plans have suggested that the new big-screen iPhone model will be marketed as “iPhone XS Max”.
Apple has previously offered two size variants of the iPhone since the iPhone 6, and the large 5.5-inch model has always been called the “Plus”. Apparently, the expected model of this year iPhone will pack larger 6.5-inch display, which is quite big in the world of smartphones, and hence it could be the reason of changing the naming convention.
We have already seen press render leak of the alleged iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max by the same publication few days ago. The image revealed two iPhone models from the side, appears to be from the promotional material that Apple uses for marketing. It is likely that Apple will launch a 5.8-inch and a 6.5-inch display size iPhone XS. The image revealed a new kind of Gold color that Apple will introduce at the launch.
