The key highlights of these new iPhones is that all of them feature Apple’s latest A12 Bionic chipset that is built on 7nm fabrication process. It has a hexa-core CPU, with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The chipset also has a quad-core GPU to offer better graphics performance. There is also an 8-core dedicated Neural Engine for on-device machine learning which can now run 9 times faster. Apple says the new chipset can launch the apps 30 percent faster. While we knew that Apple will upgrade the RAM with A12 Bionic SoC, it was only speculated that Apple iPhone XS could have included 4GB RAM instead of 3GB seen on last year’s flagship iPhone X. Now the smartphones have appeared on GeekBench before hitting the market. It is assumed that these benchmarks were run by Apple’s testing team as these still carry code named identity.
The device with code name iPhone11.2 considered as the iPhone XS was benchmarked twice. The multi-core scores in those two times were 11385 and 11167. Its two single-core scores were 4576 and 4763 in GeekBench listing.
Other than the Apple iPhone XS, the XS Max and XR were also spotted on GeekBench carrying different single-core and multi-core scores. Importantly in the Geekbench listing, it has now been revealed that both the iPhone XS and the XS Max have 4GB of RAM, while the the iPhone XR has 3GB RAM just like the 2017 iPhone X.
Successor to last year s iPhone X, the new iPhone XS comes in three storage variants 64GB, 256GB and 512GB. The slightly larger and more premium iPhone XS Max comes in same 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage configuration.
The iPhone XR, on the other hand, is the budget iPhone of the lot, and it comes in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
