With just over a day left for Apple’s launch event, we might finally have our first glimpse at what the rumored iWatch could look like. A set of alleged iWatch components drawings has surfaced on Reddit’s Apple page. It was first spotted by 9To5Mac.
While smartwatches with circular design seem to be the rage, Apple is reportedly sticking to a square design. One of the components shows a square design with rounded corners, and a circular cutout at the center, which will reportedly house the fitness tracking sensor. Additionally, the leaked photos also show drawings of the iWatch’s speaker, microphone bracket, and the speaker mesh among others.
The leakster also claims that the iWatch will also feature a “flexible multi-touch screen,” a new UI, speakers, microphone, and Siri deeply integrated. Additionally the smartwatch will also feature a battery that will last more than a day, with wireless charging capabilities, and will also be waterproof to 20 meters.
The leakster further claims that the iWatch will come in eight different varieties as four “colors” in two sizes each. This is consistent with earlier rumors about the iWatch coming in multiple variants.
From what we know so far, the iWatch could feature a 1.3-inch display and a 1.5-inch display, 512MB of RAM, and an impressive 8GB internal storage. It is also expected to be priced around $400, with cheaper variants too expected. As for availability, the iWatch is rumored to have been delayed till next year.
Apple’s event is scheduled to kick off at 10:30PM IST tomorrow, where it is expected to launch the iPhone 6 as well as the iWatch and possibly the next-generation iPad Air too. The event will be live streamed on Apple’s website. Alternatively, you can also follow our iPhone 6 live blog.
