Apple just launched its 2018 smartphone lineup at iPhone launch event about a month back in September. Before the launch event, rumors were floating on the internet that the company was planning to launch a whole host of products with refreshed hardware including the 2018 iPad lineup, and the new MacBook Air replacement. However, as we all know, it did not pan out as per the internet rumors. Though, it looks like “There’s more in the making”. To stop with the pun there, Apple has just started sending out invites to the media for a second launch event for 2018 that is scheduled to take place on October 30 in New York City.
According to a report by MacRumors, the event is scheduled to take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in the Howard Gilman Opera House. The event will start at 7:30 PM according to the Indian Standard Time. Looking closely at the invites, the company has sent out a number of different Apple logo designs on the invites. However, all the invites come with the tagline “There’s more in the making”. As pointed out previously, we are expecting the company to launch refreshed Mac’s, the new iPad Pro along with other devices from the Apple portfolio that have not seen an update in some time.
Watch: Apple iPhone XS, XS Max Hands-On
As previously reported, it is likely that the upcoming iPad Pro is likely to remove the Home button and adopt iPhone X-like design which includes slimmer bezels, and TrueDepth camera for Face ID (and no notch thankfully). As pointed out in the report, it is likely that the company is going to stick with LCD display panel for the iPad.
It is also possible that the company may drop the audio socket in the device and may switch to USB Type-C instead of the Lightning port. Apple may also launch new 12-inch MacBooks at the launch event along with low-cost notebooks with retina displays to replace the MacBook Air. The company is also expected to launch a new Mac Mini, and the much talked about modular Mac Pro.
