At its New York event this week, Apple finally launched a refreshed version of its MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air comes with a design similar to that of MacBook Pro, and offers the newest hardware including 8th generation Intel Core processors. While Apple did offer hands-on time for the press at the event, first unboxing vidoes of the 2018 MacBook Air have started hitting YouTube. As can be seen from these unboxing videos, the people who have got the device say that they were early birds and got early access to the device. These unboxing videos give a very good look at the refreshed MacBook Air, including the contents that come included in the package. One of the big changes this year is that Apple is including stickers that match the color of the MacBook Air. Also Read - Apple discontinues Space Grey accessories for Macs and iMacs: Report
In the past, Apple included stickers that have a white finish and in one of the unboxing videos, we can see Apple including gold Apple stickers. The first set of unboxing videos come from YouTubers who focus on vlogging compared to mainstream tech YouTubers. While these videos are not full reviews, they show the device outside Apple’s event for the first time.
YouTube channel TechMeOut was one of the first to share its unboxing of 2018 MacBook Air, where it highlights the gold color variant. The video shows how the gold hue on the MacBook Air is much different from the one seen on gold iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The video also shows the new gold colored stickers included in the package.
Alongside the Retina MacBook Air, Apple is also including a USB Type-C charging cable, and a 30W power adapter. The power brick is the same as the one that comes in the box of 12-inch MacBook. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with or without a Touch Bar come with a 61W power adapter.
The second unboxing video was posted by YouTuber Jessica Whitaker where she shows the new Retina MacBook Air in gold color. The video also offers a behind the scenes look at Apple’s Brooklyn event. Apple seems to be following on the precedent it set with iPhone X last year by offering the device to a mix of mainstream tech publications as well as other influencers.
At the event, Apple revealed that the MacBook Air will start shipping to consumers starting November 7. In the coming days, we should see more unboxing videos including those from mainstream tech channels. The Retina MacBook Air has spurred a lot interest among tech enthusiasts who have been waiting for the refresh for nearly four years now.
