While the Apple‘s 10th Anniversary special iPhone has been rumored to be released with all sorts of tags such as iPhone X, iPhone 8 and others, and the latest of rumors claim that Apple could also be working on a new iPhone SE. According to a report on 9to5Mac, the new iPhone SE smartphone could be priced a little over $400 (approximately Rs 26,000). In India, the iPhone SE with 32GB of internal storage currently retails for around Rs 25,000 in India. The smartphone is certainly very popular among iPhone fans and especially those who still prefer the compact form over a larger display. An affordable new iPhone SE seems very unlikely if it is indeed going to be iPhone 8 in disguise. So far, we have heard so many rumors suggesting top-of-the-line specifications on the upcoming iPhone which is likely to make it the costliest iPhone ever. It is worth mentioning that this is for the first time when reports have surfaced suggesting a new iPhone SE in works. Last week, an another report by SlashGear suggested that Apple may have discarded plans for iPhone SE 2. The word is backed by reliable analyst Pan Jiutang, who says iPhone users fond of smaller screen smartphone will have to continue with iPhone 5 series or the existing iPhone SE smartphones. As per Jiutang, the Cupertino giant is primarily focussing on large screen devices. Apple will be holding its annual launch event later this year in September. It is when air regarding iPhone 8 is expected to clear. From what we know so far, iPhone 8 will feature OLED display panels. There is still no solid word on the Touch ID placement yet.
To recall, Apple iPhone SE was released last year in March, after the launch of iPhone 6s series smartphones. However, iPhone SE is essentially a successor to the iPhone 5s. The Special Edition smartphone carries similar form factor as iPhone 5 series, while it picked hardware upgrades from the iPhone 6s series. The company recently started manufacturing iPhones in India and iPhone SE with the label ‘Designed in California. Made in Bengaluru’ was the first one to come out of India manufacturing units.
