There have been several leaks surrounding the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but not much has been written about the next generation iPad Air. Now, analyst Liaoxian Li claims in an Economic Daily News report that Apple is mainly focusing on iPad Pro this year, thereby deciding to not launch the iPad Air 3 at all. Li claims that Apple wants to focus on producing enough units of the iPad Pro, and will be directing its main tablet production facilities to work only on that model only. He claims that the iPad Air 3 will arrive in 2016, and that the company will only be unveiling the iPad mini 4 and the iPad Pro in its traditional event this fall. The iPad Pro has been subjected to many leaks, and from what we know so far, it will feature a 12.9-inch display with 2732 2048 pixel resolution. It is expected to come with a new redesigned keyboard, multi-user login support and also feature the much awaited split screen view. It is set to come with accessories like Bluetooth stylus, additional keyboard and USB-C connector. It will also have NFC support, and come with the new Force Touch technology seen on Apple Watches and the new Macbooks.
Furthermore, it will only be 7mm thick, will weigh less than 700 grams, and pack a monstrous 11,000mAh battery. Additionally, the tablet will be powered by an A8X processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and feature an anti-reflective screen coating, and come in different color options, much like recent iPhones. The tablet is also likely to run on a hybrid version of iOS which will have support for several OS X s features including multitasking and more.
With respect to the iPad mini 4, it is said to ditch the mute switch to make room for another microphone. It will take design cues from the iPad Air 2, and have similar speaker settings at the bottom. All we hope is that the iPad mini 4 is not as disappointing as the iPad mini 3 which brought along minimal changes.
