Apple has released a new tool that lets users check whether an iOS device has an Activation Lock enabled or not. Activation Lock was introduced on iOS 7 last year and it is essentially a security feature that prevents anyone from erasing or activating your iOS device without entering the correct Apple ID and password first. If a person tries to activate or access your iOS device without the correct credentials, it will render the device unusable. On iOS 8, the feature is enabled by default. Apple recommends you clear your device and disable Activation Lock on your iOS device before selling it. It recommends users sign out of iCloud and also erase everything by heading to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all Content and Settings.
