Apple took the wraps off OS X Yosemite at WWDC last month, and also announced that a pre-release version of the OS will be available to the public for free. The company is delivering on its promise, and the first OS X Yosemite beta will be available to the public tomorrow.

As mentioned above, the pre-release beta will be available to the public, meaning you won’t require a developer’s account to download the OS on your Mac. The software will also be the same version developers are using to test their respective apps.

There is however a small catch. Apple will only be releasing a set number of activations for the first public beta. While Apple hasn’t revealed exactly how many copies it plans on releasing, The Verge claims it is around one million.

For those who plan to download OS X Yosemite beta tomorrow, Apple has warned that it being a beta version could cause problems on your Mac. The company also recommends you take a full backup of your computer before you install the OS.

OS X Yosemite introduced a host of new features including Handoff, tweaked notification center, iCloud drive in Finder, and a tweaked Safari design among others. A comprehensive list of all the new features can be found here.
