Apple has today updated its 12-inch Retina MacBook line with new internals, faster processors with better overall performance and a new Rose Gold color option too. Apple has kept the same thin chassis, single USB Type-C port, Force Touch trackpad and edge-to-edge keyboard design intact. The new MacBooks come equipped with Intel’s latest sixth-generation Skylake processor with clock speeds up to 1.3GHz, and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1GHz. The processor is also said to offer slightly better battery life compared to the previous generation. Apple says, the refreshed MacBook can offer up to 10 hours of web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback. Also Read - iPhone selling in LG stores? Besides the new Intel Core M processors, Apple has also included new Intel HD Graphics 515, which it claims to deliver up to 25 percent faster performance compared to the previous generation. “MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it’s our vision for the future of the notebook. Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
Software and apps
All new MacBooks will come pre-loaded with OS X El Capitan. Apple will also bundle iMovie to let you create movies on the go, GarageBand to let you create music or learn to play guitar and piano, and iWork suite which includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps, free with every new Mac.
Pricing and availability
The refreshed MacBook will be available across all Apple authorized resellers starting tomorrow. The MacBook with 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor (Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.2 GHz), 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage will set you back by Rs 106,900, whereas the one with 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Core m5 processor (Turbo Boost speeds up to2.7 GHz), 8GB of RAM and 512GB of flash storage will cost Rs 129,900.
Apple will also allow you to configure your MacBook with slightly faster 1.3 GHz dual-core Intel Core m7 processor (Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1 GHz). However, Apple didn’t mention any pricing for the same and the quote will most likely be offered to you by the Apple retailer.
