Apple has just confirmed that it will be hosting an event on October 16 at the Town Hall auditorium on its Infinite Loop Campus in Cupertino, California. The company has sent out invites to media with the phrase, “it’s been way too long,” 9To5Mac reports.
We expect the company will launch new the iPad Air 2, and Retina iPad Mini 2, and refreshed version of Mac Mini. The odds of Mac Mini weren’t that high until now, but it is the only product that Apple hasn’t upgraded for “way too long.” There are also rumors about the 27-inch iMac getting a refresh along with a Retina display
The company could also make its desktop operating system OS X Yosemite public at the event. There were rumors that iOS 8.1, the first major update to Apple’s mobile operating system will be coming on October 20. The update is expected to bring support for Apple Pay, which company announced at its iPhone event last month. Apple may choose the same event for all such announcements.
