Yesterday, we reported about Apple making aggressive plans to boost iPhone sales in India and today we have come across some new details regarding those plans. In addition to accepting older iPhones when users upgrade to the iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C, it seems that from tomorrow Apple will launch a buyback scheme for the iPhone 4S 8GB and iPhone 5C where users can exchange smartphones from other brands. The offer is not available on the iPhone 5S at the moment, which we believe is due to the current stock crunch. Also Read - iMessage on Android will hurt Apple, says Epic Games in latest court filing
Apple will accept smartphones including the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10, Nokia Lumia 925, HTC Desire 500, Desire 600, One mini and One dual-SIM, Samsung Mega 5.8/6.3, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 and Sony s Xperia C, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. The company will also accept the 8GB and 16GB variants of the iPhone 4 as a part of this deal. This offer goes live tomorrow and one can expect a minimum of Rs 13,000 for these phones subject to certain conditions.
Some retailers had jumped the gun and were offering up to Rs 12,000 for an iPhone 4 when upgrading to an iPhone 5C, Earlier this summer, Apple had launched a similar buyback scheme where users could exchange their smartphones from rival brands and get Rs 7,000 off on the iPhone 4.
