More details are popping up on the internet as Apple’s annual hardware launch event approaches. A number of details have surfaced about what Apple is planning to launch at the event courtesy of Bloomberg. According to the report, the company is planning to launch the device sometime in the second week of September with three new iPhones. The report pointed out that “some” inside the company are terming this year as the “S year” where the company focuses on maintaining the design of its devices while upgrading the internals.
New iPhone models and expanding revenue
This means that the three iPhone devices that the company is planning to launch will come with a similar design to what we saw on the iPhone X. The report also pointed out that the company was looking at increasing the average price of its devices. With more iPhone models on the market, the company is planning to increase the sale of its accessories and digital services to grow its revenue stream.

Apple is expected to upgrade the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen, while also launching a new model of with 6.5-inch OLED. Lastly, there will also be a cheaper iPhone with 6.1-inch LCD panel. The report confirmed that the company may launch dual-SIM variants of the larger iPhone in some markets. As previously reported, the company may launch its 6.1-inch iPhone in a number of colors, but this report adds that Apple may opt for un-colored aluminum edges that we have seen in the iPhone X to match the look.
Gestures left, right, and center
The report pointed out that Apple is planning to ship all the iPhones with the new gesture system that it launched along with the iPhone X last year. Apple is also likely to pack Face ID along with all its models this year. Talking more about the software of the upcoming iPhones, the company may also launch a proper multi-tasking mode as it introduced in the iPad, in the larger iPhone variant.
Apple iPhone Xs?
Apple has not finalized on the naming of its new models. According to the report, the company has had held a number of internal discussions on how to name the devices considering they are not easy to differentiate in terms of the looks, as well as the software.
It is likely that the company may go by iPhone Xs but that may change until the company has officially confirmed. The company is also looking at probably dropping the Plus label for this year’s iPhones.
Apple Watch with a larger screen, iPad Pro, and AirPower
Apple is likely to update all its peripherals with feature and hardware upgrades. The report pointed out that Apple may launch its Apple Watch along with a larger “nearly edge-to-edge” screen, new iPad Pros in 11-inch, and 12.9-inch screens with “slimmer bezels” while adding Face ID. The company may not upgrade its iPad Mini but instead, Apple is planning to launch the promised AirPower along with update AirPods at the launch event.
