Apple could release iOS 8.1, the first major point update to the iOS 8 operating system on October 20, Bank Innovation reports. Among other features, the update is also said to bring support for Apple Pay.
A report from earlier this week gave evidence of the existence of iOS 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3 updates. It further suggested that Apple might be changing the way it seeds update to the users. Furthermore, Apple also released the iOS 8.1 update to the developers earlier this week.
Announced last month, Apple Pay is a ground-breaking feature that Apple announced at its iPhone 6 launch event last month. This feature will allow users to pay for purchases using Apple devices. The report claims that Apple is tightening the last few security stitches and will release the feature on October 20.
There is also a steep possibility that Apple might rollout the iOS 8.1 update at the long rumored October event where the company is expected to showcase the new iPad Air 2, refreshed Retina iPad mini, and next generation Mac Mini.
