Apple has put up the product page for the Apple TV on its India website. The images on the page have been customized for India with Bollywood flicks like Ek Tha Tiger and Veer Zaara gracing the television screen. This is by far the biggest hint we have received of Apple’s plans to launch the product in India after BGR India exclusively reported about it in December. Apple TV is not the rumored television set that Apple is said to be currently said to be testing. Instead, it is a tiny box that connects to the television and brings the iTunes Store to it and also enables users to connect their iOS devices to their television wirelessly using AirPlay. We had earlier reported that Apple was planning to launch it for Rs 6.990 but the official launch seems to have been delayed since our report. The product is closely tied to Apple’s iTunes Store and the lack of an India-specific iTunes Store was the reason behind Apple not launching the Apple TV. However, iTunes Store is now available in India, making it a good time to introduce the product that Apple has called a “hobby” that was first previewed in September 2006 and shipped in March 2007.
