Apple unveiled the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to the world two days ago and announced launch dates for many countries, but there was no mention of when it would arrive in India. However, Economic Times is now reporting that the company plans to bring the new smartphones to the Indian market as early as October 11- 12 to make the most of the Diwali festive season. The report also states that Apple plans to launch the Apple Watch in India as early as next week. Apple has begun informing trade partners about its launch plans, as it looks to garner triple sales during the festive quarter of October- December. If this turns out to be true, this will be the fastest launch of any product by Apple in India since being announced. “Both Apple and Samsung are launching their new flagship phone models much ahead of Diwali this year to make the most of the festive season,” K Krishna Pawan, executive director at Lot Mobiles told the publication.
This move to fast-track the launch of its products comes after Samsung decided to advance its plans for its Note 5 release to fend off new iPhone competition.
The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were announced in San Francisco and come with new features like 3D Touch, a faster A9 processor, faster LTE, amped up 12-megapixel camera with 4K recording and a FaceTime HD 5-megapixel camera with Retina Flash.
