For the longest time more in technology circles believed that Apple would turn the iPod nano into a smartwatch but Apple shot those dreams when it launched a refreshed bigger iPod nano last September. Well, it looks like that happened because Apple was already working on a smartwatch if a report by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. According to the report, Apple is working with Corning for a flexible glass called ‘Willow Glass’ that will be used in the construction of the device.
Both stories suggest that Apple is experimenting with form factors and designs for the smartwatch, which some rumors suggest will be called the iWatch. Previous, rumors have suggested that the contraption could use Bluetooth and have a 1.5-inch display.
The Journal goes one step further and says that Apple has discussed it with Foxconn, the company that manufactures most Apple products and is working on some technology that will be used in it.
It’s also worth noting that Apple CEO, Tim Cook, a fitness freak, is a big fan of the Nike Fuel Band and Bob Mansfield is also obsessed with similar Bluetooth connected technologies.
