Apple has officially sent media invites for its upcoming WWDC event scheduled to kick off on June 5 June 9. The keynote event this year will kick off at 10 AM PT or 10:30 PM IST at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California instead of Moscone Center in San Francisco as the usual venue. The annual event brings together thousands of developers from across the world to discuss with them about the software and offer them a glimpse of the upcoming iOS and macOS. Apple is expected to unveil the successors to the iOS 10, watchOS 3, tvOS and macOS Sierra, which the company had announced at WWDC last year. The keynote speech will be live streamed on Apple s Website. For the live stream to work, you will need an iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, and on Mac OS X with Safari browser. Following its usual trend, Apple will be showcasing iOS 11. The Cupertino giant could release developer and public beta versions of iOS 11 soon after the announcement, ahead of an official global rollout in autumn. According to reports, iOS 11 would be integrated with intelligent power saving tech, which would allow devices to automatically switch to low power mode as soon as the battery goes below 20 percent. Apart from this, Apple Wallet is expected to get a major revamp and will relaunch as Pay app. It will come with iMessage integration allowing users to transfer funds via the messaging app. Some sketchy rumors also suggest that Apple will add VR support to iOS 11, to give competition to Android’s Daydream VR. Apple is also expected to showcase the updated version of WatchOS 4, that will come with refreshed features like Sleep Tracking. The new version is also said to offer more power to app developers.
Rumors have it that the Apple will launch a home product to its portfolio giving a tough fight to Google Home and Amazon Echo. Recently, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple s smart home product could launch sometime in the second half of 2017, and it is likely to cost more than Amazon Echo which retails for $179 which is approximately Rs 11,500. Apart from that, reports also hint that we will get to see a beefed-up Siri taking more control over iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV.
