While the report doesn t reveal any new information, except the launch timeframe, there are plenty that have surfaced online in the past few weeks. For one, while the iPhone 6c will come in multiple color options, it won t feature a polycarbonate body like its predecessor. Instead, it will boast a metallic body and look more like the sixth-generation iPod touch.
Being a relatively affordable variant, the iPhone 6c won t boast top-of-the-line specifications and features. It is instead expected to feature an A8 chipset, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and a FaceTime HD f/2.2 camera. It is also likely to feature a TouchID sensor up front, but not the 3D Touch display seen on the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The iPhone 5c may not have been a massive hit, but Apple seems to be quite bullish about its forthcoming affordable iPhone. Reports claim that Apple has roped in Foxconn to be the sole manufacturer of the 4-inch iPhone and expects to ship 20 to 30 million iPhones by the end of next year.
