Apple’s next launch event where it would unveil the next generation iPad and iPad mini will reportedly take place on October 22. The iPad 5 is expected to share the design of the iPad mini and both will come in the same colors as the iPhone 5S – gold, silver and space grey. The report does not confirm whether both the iPad variants will come with Touch ID, though there is evidence about them having the feature. The two iPads will also sport the latest 64-bit A7 chipset that we saw on the iPhone 5S, the report claims. It also claims that the iPad mini 2 will sport a Retina Display, which contradicts earlier reports that the Retina Display variant may get delayed to next year. Both the models are expected to feature 8-megapixel cameras as well. Also Read - iPhone 12 Mini reaches end of production already, say rumours
Interestingly, the date clashes with Nokia’s event in Abu Dhabi where it will unveil its first Windows tablet, the Lumia 2520. Apart from the new iPads, Apple is also expected to formally launch OS X Mavericks as well as the Mac Pro it had unveiled at WWDC in June.
