The iPhoto app for the iPad and the iPhone has hit 1 million unique users in less than 10 days after its release on March 7. This app was announced by Apple at the launch event of the new iPad in San Francisco this month and can be downloaded from the App Store for $4.99. Mind you, Apple is counting the number of unique users and not the number of downloads since a single user can download one app multiple times. iPhoto app works with iCloud, lets you stream photos on various devices, allows you to edit them with tons of effects and also lets you share them on various social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and many more.
With the iPhoto app, users can sort their photos in various categories namely Album, Photos, Events and can also make Journals. The list of editing tools include crop, straighten, color adjust, brightness adjust and saturation controls. There are also a couple of brushes to fix various issues like red-eye and to saturate, lighten, darken, sharpen or soften specific areas. The iPhoto app runs on the new iPad, the iPad 2, the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 4 but can’t run on the original iPad.
