In another development in the Apple and Samsung patent war, US International Trade Commission has granted Apple to impose a ban against its arch rival Samsung. This ban will prohibit Samsung from importing, selling and distributing some devices in the US, Reuters reports. The ITC has found Samsung guilty of infringing on two of Apple’s patents which included a software interface patent for touchscreen operations, and a hardware patent on the detection of headphone jacks. This import and distribution ban will be applicable on the devices that come under the infringement of patents and include these patented technologies. This move will affect Samsung’s market in the US in a big way, though there still is no confirmation on which all smartphone and tablet models would be considered to be banned. According to the report, these orders will not come in to effect for another 60 days as the orders have been sent to undergo the presidential review. Last week President Obama overturned a similar product ban of old Apple devices like the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, which the ITC had granted to Samsung.
