Triple cameras are old school. Xiaomi today gave us a sneak peek into its upcoming Mi A1 variant which will be focused entirely on camera. Call it a hexa-camera smartphone, the new Mi A1 model will feature not one but three pairs of cameras at the back.
Xiaomi, through its official Facebook page, teased the rear panel of the ‘new’ Mi A1 with “Not 1, 2 or even 3 but 6! Get your first look at the new #MiA1” as the caption. The smartphone is shown in a rose gold finish, complete with the unusual camera setup and fingerprint sensor at the back.
If you also believed the image above, then you can’t be blamed. Coming from an official source is bound to make anyone believe that the information is true. But, check the date today, and the comments too. Gotcha!
We bet you are also laughing at the very long description of the possible specifications of the smartphone, yes, the inclusion of 32GB RAM, 2TB of onboard storage, and 42,000mAh battery!
It seems the April Fools’ Day fever has caught on Xiaomi as well after Reliance Jio teased its JioJuice Beta app for battery saving, which sadly, is another prank pulled off really well by the company.
As for the all-new Mi A1, the image kind of says it all with the visibly fake placement of the six cameras in three setups placed horizontally one after the other right above the fingerprint sensor at the back.

One of the top comments posted by a user show a ‘Huawei P60’ smartphone with similarly placed multiple cameras. To this, Xiaomi has responded with a grin and a wink emoji, confirming it is nothing but a prank on its fans. Well done, Xiaomi.
