Asus has launched the MeMo Pad 10 FHD at Computex which is powered by the dual-core Intel CloverTrail+ CPU clocked at 1.6GHz. The 10.1-inch tablet runs on Android 4.2.

As the FHD nomenclature suggests, it has a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. It also has 2GB of RAM, and will be available in 16GB/32GB storage options, and it has the PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU. It also has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera, and Asus claims a battery life of up to 10 hours.

As far as the form factor is concerned it’s not the lightest or thinnest tablet around at 580 grams and 9.5mm, but still is pretty slim.

The presence of the CloverTrail+ chips seems like a big coup for Intel, as it has been trying to break into the Android ecosystem. It has been steadily chipping away and not it seems like its efforts are paying.  Earlier in the year Asus had also launched the FonePad which was powered by the low coast Intel Lexington CPU. Later in the month Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is also rumoured to be powered by an Intel chip.
