What would be the company’s first ever gaming laptop with the Intel Core i9 processor, Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has today teased its upcoming laptop. In the teaser, the company claims the laptop to be the most powerful update from ROG.

While in the teaser, the company only mentions the laptop to be ‘coming soon’, media reports suggest that the device can be expected to be launched within April.

Asus isn’t the only one aiming for the Core i9-powered laptop. It is highly anticipated that the 15-inch MacBook Pro refresh will come with the new processor.

Two weeks ago, Intel introduced the new six-core i9 processor which has been designed for high-end premium laptop series. The Core i9-8950HK is a mobile version of Intel’s desktop processor, offering six cores and twelve threads. With the six core processing power, the Core i9 also offers maximum turbo frequency of 5.6GHz.

The first-ever Intel Core i9 processors for mobiles and laptops are aimed at a richer gaming and content creation experience on-the-go, which also includes 4K video editing, making them a considerable choice for the MacBook Pro refresh. Intel claims that it is the highest-performance laptop processor ever built by the company.

The new 8th-gen Intel Core i9, i7, and i5 processors for laptops are based on the Coffee Lake platform and leverage the 14nm++ process technology, which allows them to deliver up to 41 percent more frames per second in gameplay or edit 4K video up to 59 percent faster than the previous generation with same discrete graphics.
