Asus seems to be really enjoying teasing the mobile world by releasing teaser trailers and leaking images of what is to come at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Taiwanese company has now posted an image on its Twitter page showing the back of a device with the Intel Inside logo on it. Though the image just has the Intel logo in focus, the device in question could very well be the FonePad powered by Intel s new Lexington Z2420 Atom chip, which as we reported earlier, Asus is planning to launch at the MWC.
As reported, the FonePad is expected to have voice calling capability, run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is expected to sport a 7-inch display supporting 1280×800 pixels. The tablet will be powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Lexington Z2420 Atom chip with hyper threading technology, PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB RAM. Other features expected on the tablet are a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front camera, a micro-SD card slot, a 4,270mAh battery and will be offered in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB avatars. Its dimensions will be 196.6 120.1 10.4mm, weigh in at 340 grams will have an aluminum back.
To make things more interesting, Asus has also released a video showing Barcelona’s iconic Christopher Columbus statue where he is holding the FonePad and gets a call, while he’s busy pointing towards the sea. Check it out!
