At its Zenfone 3 launch event in Taipei, Asus kicked off the proceedings by taking the wraps off its new ZenBook. Asus claims that its ZenBook 3 is lighter and ‘two times faster’ than Apple’s MacBook. Prices for the new ZenBook 3 start from $999 or Rs 67,200 approximately. The ZenBook 3 is 11.9mm thick and weighs 907 grams, which is thinner and lighter than Apple’s MacBook (13.2mm and 920 grams). Asus says the secret behind the ZenBook’s design and build quality is the use of ‘aerospace-grade aluminum alloy’. The ZenBook 3 boasts the highest screen-to-body ratio in Asus’ lineup and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by Intel’s Core i7 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM. It also comes with up to 1TB storage, USB-C port, and a battery that the company says is good enough to last up to nine hours.
The laptop also comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner, and support for Windows Hello, Smart Gestures and handwriting support. There’s currently no word on the availability of the laptop or when it could arrive in India.
