Asus has launched the ZenBook Flip S (UX370) convertible laptop in India. The Taiwanese company is calling it the world’s thinnest and lightest convertible laptop, which weighs just 1.1 kilograms, and meaures just 11.2mm at its thickest point. The Asus ZenBook Flip S (UX370) is powered by Intel’s 8th generation Core i7-8550U CPU clocked at 1.8GHz with turbo frequency of up to 4GHz. The notebook lacks discrete graphics, and users will have to rely on Intel’s integrated HD Graphics 620. It sports a 13.3-inch display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, and 16:9 aspect ratio. The display also comes with thin bezels, which Asus calls NanoEdge design. The laptop features 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB SATA3 SSD storage. The highlight of the ZenBook Flip S (UX370) is the convertible design with 360-degree hinge, which allows it to be used as a clamshell laptop or a tablet or even in stand and tent mode. There is only one model with blue color on the top case, and concentric blue circle design on the interior. Asus says the laptop uses new aerospace-grade 6013 aluminum alloy, which makes it lighter than the standard aluminum alloy used on other laptops.
The ZenBook Flip S (UX370) supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Like Apple MacBook Pro, it has only two USB Type-C ports with display, and power delivery support. It has a full-size backlit keyboard with 1mm key travel while the touchpad is covered with glass, and support palm rejection and Precision drivers.
The ZenBook Flip S (UX370) comes with dual Asus SonicMaster Premium stereo speakers certified by Harman Kardon, and array of microphones for Cortana voice-recogniton. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and VGA web camera for video conferencing, but it lacks Windows Hello facial recognition. The convertible is backed by a 39Wh 2-cell Li-Ion polymer battery that Asus claims will last up to 11 hours, and supports fast charge to 60 percent in 50 minutes via USB-c power adapter.
Asus ZenBook Flip S (UX370) also supports inking with Windows 10, but the stylus is optional. The notebook is priced at Rs 130,990, and will be available from retailers in the country.
