Asus announced the new ZenBook Pro in June at Computex 2018 this year. The flagship laptop is a unique offering from Asus, as it’s one of first notebooks to replace the touchpad with a 5.5-inch touchscreen instead. While it looked like a concept, Asus announced recently though Twitter that it will be launching the laptop in India on August 13. The company also put-up a teaser video of the laptop that highlights the touchscreen touchpad called Screenpad. Besides that, the tweet also mentions the notebook to come featured with a NanoEdge 4K UHD Touchscreen Display that can flaunt vivid and more realistic colors. There is no mention of the price yet, but the device has been touted to come with a starting price of $2,299 in US, which roughly translates to Rs 1,58,000. Asus ZenBook Pro (UX580GE) features and specifications
Asus ZenBook Pro (UX580GE) has already been listed on the company’s official website. The laptop comes in two configurations. The high-end variant comes with an Intel Core i9-8950HK processor, while the one below that features an Intel Core i7-8750H processor. It should be noted that both fall under the premium range of processors.
The chipset is further tagged alongside 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. It also runs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU, which comes equipped with 4GB video memory. All of this comes wrapped in premium aluminum chassis.
The main highlights of the laptops however are both its screens. The laptop comes with a 15-inch 4K display, which features slim bezels all around, allowing it to offer a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent. Asus claims it to have PANTONE validation for color accuracy and carry 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut.
The Screenpad measures 5.5 inches diagonally and supports multi finger gesture support as well. Aside from working as a touchpad, it can be used as a secondary screen for multiple applications being used on the laptop. It carries support for multiple applications including Office, Calendar, Calculator, Music player and many others. It can also be used to create quick shortcuts in many applications. Asus plans to add to its functionality in the future.

Connectivity options include, two USB-Type C Thunderbolt ports, two USB 3.1 ports, HDMI port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot. On the wireless side of things you get dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The laptop comes powered with a 71Wh 8-cell lithium-polymer battery, which the company claims can last for 9.5 hours. It will be running Windows 10 OS.
